We need more unspecialized channels on tv

There is too much of specialization happening on tv these days in terms of channels available..
Food is for just food.
cartoon is just for cartoons.
History is just for history.
Gosh, we actually have just biography now.
Why this categorizing and rigid adherence to their respective themes works really well for adults already in their thirties who have already decided what they want to expose themselves to, such channel categorization does disservice to adolescents and early teens who are just starting to develop a taste for things...Instead of subjecting them to a potential development of ADD by needing to surf all 100-250 channels to savor each type of programming, I would rather suggest that we still have some channels that can provide a mish mash of all types of programming one after another in different time slots in a given day, thus allowing the child to savor each type of viewing category and then decide what they want to stick too.
I think even adults can do with a lil bit of being exposed to things they don't know of and have never tried knowing about and this can happen only if something appears in their own fav channel amidst all the programs they already watch.Ya know, a food network person might rather just watch food network all day instead of going over and watching something else, CNN perhaps.
My taste is vast and varied and i just have to surf and surf and surf to make sure i dont miss the best of all types of programming.Ya know and i have to sheepishly admit that all channel telecast their best program right at prime time on different specialized channels and it is an ordeal for a person who is interested both in CNN and food network at the same time.Either ways, please do note that this is a ramble blog and i shall ramble all i want.
Meanwhile, i googled my own blog yesterday and was pleasantly surprised to find that some other person had the minset to call his /her blog the same as mine..I mean, how possible is it for two different people to come up with the same name of "Not so daily ramble" ..whatever.
